1. Overview
Crossroads is a decision journal and social community. This Privacy Policy applies to the Crossroads mobile application, this website, and related support services (together, the “Service”). “Crossroads,” “we,” and “us” refer to the operator of the Service.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
We collect your email address, authentication credentials, nickname, avatar, profile details, and account preferences. Passwords are handled as protected authentication data and are not displayed to other users.
Content and social activity
We process decisions, options, archive updates, responses, comments, likes, follows, messages, reminders, and other information you choose to create. Content you publish publicly can be viewed by other users according to your settings.
Voice, photos, and files
When you actively record, select, upload, publish, or archive media, we process the selected audio, photos, and associated metadata. Camera, microphone, and photo-library access is requested only when you use a feature that needs it.
Purchases and virtual items
We receive transaction references, product identifiers, storefront price and currency, purchase status, diamond balance, and owned archive items. The app store processes your payment method; Crossroads does not receive your full card or bank details.
Device, diagnostic, and usage information
We may process device type, operating-system version, app version, language, network information, IP address, timestamps, feature interactions, crash information, and security logs to provide, diagnose, and protect the Service.
Support, reports, and moderation
We process support requests, report reasons, quoted content, appeal materials, safety actions, and communications with us so we can investigate issues and respond.
3. How we use information
- Register and authenticate accounts, maintain sessions, and protect access.
- Publish and display decisions, perspectives, profiles, and archive updates according to your choices.
- Deliver messaging, follows, comments, reminders, notifications, and other requested interactions.
- Maintain diamond balances, validate store transactions, and deliver owned archive items.
- Detect prohibited content, review reports and appeals, prevent abuse, and enforce our rules.
- Provide support, data exports, account deletion, and other privacy requests.
- Operate, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service.
- Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of users, Crossroads, and others.
5. Retention periods
- While your account exists: we retain account information and content needed to provide the Service.
- After you delete an individual item: related production data is cleared within seven days and backups are overwritten within thirty days.
- After an account deletion request: the account is deactivated immediately, remains revocable for 15 days, and production and backup deletion is completed within the following 30 days.
- Security and legal records: limited safety, fraud-prevention, transaction, and audit records may be retained separately for up to 180 days, or longer if law requires.
Where deletion is not legally required or technically possible, information may instead be irreversibly anonymized so it can no longer identify you.
6. Your rights and controls
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your information, and to withdraw consent. You can use the following controls directly:
- Update your profile and interaction settings in the app.
- Manage camera, microphone, photo, and notification permissions in device settings.
- Delete your content using the controls attached to it.
- Request an export under Settings → Privacy & data.
- Request account deletion under Settings → Account settings → Delete account.
- Contact us to ask a privacy question or make a request.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Children
The Service is intended for people aged 13 or older. If local law requires a higher minimum age or parental consent, that requirement applies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child who cannot lawfully use the Service. A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided information without appropriate permission should contact us.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls, protected authentication, transport security, duplicate-transaction protection, and limited staff access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service, law, or our processing changes. The publication and effective date appear at the top. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will provide additional notice and request consent where required. This is the first published version.
10. Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or complaints, contact Crossroads at szrmbcabwm733@hotmail.com. You can also submit a ticket through Settings → Help & appeals in the app.
